# Chapter 4: Governance Settings (Danger Zone)

The actions in this chapter all **significantly change the ownership and responsibility of the memorial space**, and some of them are **irreversible**. Please proceed only after full confirmation. All of these features are limited to the Primary Manager.

### 4-1 Transfer Primary Manager (Irreversible)

When you wish to hand the "head steward" role to another family member, you can transfer the Primary Manager role.

1. Enter settings → governance area → "Transfer Primary Manager."
2. From the members **who have already joined**, choose the person to take over (they must already be a member of this space).
3. The system asks you to **manually type "我確定" (I confirm)** as the final confirmation.

*Figure 4-1　Before transferring, you must manually type "我確定" (I confirm); the transfer is a one-way action and cannot be reversed by yourself.*

Once the transfer is complete, you are **demoted to Co-Editor** and **can no longer enter the settings page** (because governance rights have been handed over):

> 💡 **A small note — this is an irreversible action**
> Transferring the Primary Manager role is **one-way and cannot be reversed by yourself**. If you transfer to the wrong person by mistake, there is no self-service recovery button on the family side; in that case, please contact your Account Manager for help through the customer-service process. Before transferring, be sure to reconfirm the person taking over.

### 4-2 Set, Replace, or Cancel a "Successor"

The "Successor" is a **marker of wishes**: you can designate one member to express the intention "in the future, I hope this family member takes over." In the current version, it is a **pure marker and does not automatically transfer any permissions**. The designated member sees a gentle notice in their own space.

*Figure 4-3　The designated person sees a notice that they have been marked as the Successor (a pure record in the current version).*

If you later wish to **have a different family member take over**, the system asks you to confirm "replacing" the existing Successor (each memorial space has only one Successor at a time).

> 💡 **A small note**
> - In the current version the Successor **has no actual permissions**, and does not automatically take over when the honoree passes away; it is purely a record of intention set aside for the future.
> - **Setting and canceling** a Successor takes effect immediately, with no confirmation dialog; a confirmation appears only when "replacing" an existing Successor.

### 4-3 Archive the Memorial Space

If you need to pause a memorial space, you can use archiving. Out of caution, this feature has strict conditions:

- **Only an "Honoree (isHonoree)" account**, and only **when the honoree has not yet been marked as deceased**, can archive it themselves.
- After archiving there is a **30-day grace period**, during which it can still be restored.

If you are not an Honoree account, or the honoree has already been marked deceased, the archiving area shows "please contact your Account Manager" and offers no button. This is a deliberate protective design, to avoid mistakes.

> 💡 **Tips for this chapter**
> The actions in the danger zone vary in sensitivity: transferring the Primary Manager role, replacing the Successor, bulk removal, and so on have a clear confirmation step; while changing a role, or setting / canceling a Successor, take effect immediately. For any action that is "irreversible" or "affects others' rights and responsibilities," please be sure to confirm before sending.
